SUMMARY:(Virtual) IoT Device Security Conference
DESCRIPTION:Connected device security is perhaps the most pressing issue facing technology organizations today. Security vulnerabilities have damaged the reputation of global brands\, resulted in lawsuits\, and even led to physical damage in the real world. \nThese sessions\, as part of the third-annual IoT Device Security Conference\, are aimed at teaching developers the strategies for protecting their connected systems\, companies\, and reputations. These in-depth technical sessions are free for qualified attendees. They will outline best practices that IoT Developers\, Engineering Managers\, and Executives can implement to secure the insecure Internet of Things. \n \nArpit Joshipura\, General Manager of Networking\, IoT and Edge for the Linux Foundation\, will be giving a talk about Security with Open Source on November 10 at 5:15 pm PDT. \nOpen-source software is becoming a de-facto mechanism for ecosystems that are building Edge-based solutions\, especially in the areas of life cycle management\, APIs\, etc. At the same time\, a focus on end-to-end processes like code scanning\, vulnerabilities\, auto patching\, and process handoffs are important. The Linux Foundation (LF) provides tools for open-source projects to that ensure critical vulnerabilities are resolved as code is deployed early in the project. In this presentation\, Arpit will present how several LF Edge projects are focused on AI (such as Fledge\, EdgeX Foundry\, and Akraino) to not only provide predictive maintenance for industrial devices\, but also use AI at the Edge to identify anomalies and other security issues. \nRegister for IoT Device Security Conference here: http://bit.ly/iotsecurityconference20

SUMMARY:(Webinar) EdgeX Foundry Adopter Series: HP
DESCRIPTION:In this webinar series\, LF Edge members and EdgeX Foundry community members present how they use the EdgeX platform\, why they chose it and what they would like to see next in the roadmap. The series has already had industry leaders like Accenture\, ThunderSoft\, Jiangxing Intelligence\, TIBCO and Intel present their use cases. If you missed any of the sessions\, you can find them on our Youtube Channel: https://bit.ly/3jdDnW2. \n \nOn November 17 at 8 am PDT\, join us for a presentation by HP as they walk us through HP Engage Edge\, the world’s first retail product powered by EdgeX Foundry. Announced in August 2020\, it is the latest product from HP’s Retail & Hospitality Business team and is an on-premise edge compute device designed to accelerate sensor-based Edge & analytics solutions. The solutions allow businesses to gather and process onsite\, real-time data from an array of endpoints in order to better manage and monitor business metrics like inventory management\, promotion effectiveness\, loss prevention and customer engagement etc. Hear them explain the product-market fit and how EdgeX is helping enable some real world use cases backed by HP’s global leadership in these segments. \nTo register for the event\, click here: https://zoom.us/webinar/register/WN_beYMYPcvS26aTiGJiyAklw

SUMMARY:(Webinar) Open Horizon: Secure Application Management for Machine Learning & Constrained Devices
DESCRIPTION:Join us on Thursday\, November 19 at 8-9 am PDT to learn more about Open Horizon in the next webinar in the “On the Edge with LF Edge” series.  \nOpen Horizon is an open source platform for managing the service software lifecycle of containerized workloads and related machine learning assets. A Stage 1 project under LF Edge\, it enables autonomous management of applications deployed to distributed webscale fleets of edge computing nodes – clusters and devices based on Docker or Kubernetes – all from a central management hub. Attendees will learn how easily and quickly it can be installed\, see it demonstrate how machine learning models can be re-deployed without restarting the consuming application\, and discover all of the collaboration efforts underway with other LF Edge projects. \nRegister today: https://bit.ly/3eIFK23  \nIn this webinar\, attendees will learn:\n– An Overview (what it is\, how it fits into LF Edge)\n– All-in-One installation and workload deployment demo\n– Recent feature additions\, where we are going\n– Model Management Service (MMS) demo\n– Collaborations and integrations with other LF Edge projects like Secure Device Onboard (SDO)\, EdgeX Foundry and Fledge\n– How to get involved\n– Q&A \nSpeakers from IBM include:
