Daniel Lazaro

Daniel currently serves as a Senior Technical Program Manager at the CTO office at OSIsoft, focusing on technology, research and innovation projects related to IIoT, Open Source and Energy (Distributed Energy Resources). Daniel acts as technical liaison for strategic partners and represents OSIsoft at the Industrial Internet Consortium. Prior to joining OSIsoft in 2010, Daniel collaborated in various international research and development projects related to both edge and cloud.

Daniel holds a M.Sc. in Computer Science from Valladolid University (Spain) and a Ph.D. in Electrical and Electronics Engineering from Aalborg University (Denmark).

Hakan Sonmez

Hakan currently serves as a Product Strategy and Operations Manager at IBM’s Edge Computing and SDN business unit. His focus areas are Edge computing, Hybrid Multi-Cloud Networking and applying AI/ML to multi-cloud operations. He works closely with IBM technical leadership on the Open Horizon project of LF Edge. Previously, he was a lead consultant at IBM Corporate Strategy team.

Prior to IBM, Hakan held various technology roles in Networking and Telco industry, including Cisco Systems, Airvana Networks, Sycamore Networks and NextWave Wireless.

Hakan holds a BS in Electrical Engineering from Middle East Technical University, an MS in Electrical Engineering from Northwestern University, and an MBA degree from MIT Sloan School of Management.
